I've travelled a lot in my life, lived in many wonderful places and met many great people. You could say I've been a bit of a nomad with no real base. In fact, as Paul Young sang in the '80s "wherever I lay my hat, that's my home". (Apologies if this wasn't a Paul Young original, but it's the only version I know).
Memories remain with me always, but mementos have had to be discarded along the way. Going through some of my stuff in my mother's house, I was fortunate to find some gems from the past that I can happily preserve by putting them in electronic format. Thus, this section of the site is my attempt to recapture a little of my past, and as I share, I hope you'll have some fun too.
What Brian Did Next
What Brian Did Next, in its original form, is an exercise book full of short stories written for me by my school friend Heather Partridge (in the picture on the right).
I have reproduced it on this site with all original grammar and typos intact. It brings back memories of school stuff and my fanatical devotion to Paul Weller (although unfortunately Heather misspelled his surname "Wellar").
Apparently, I tried my hardest to convert Heather too, and this is a trait that I still possess; trying to make people like what I like. Hence my forcing friends such as Sandra and Zibu to watch (and like for goodness sake!) two wonderful German films, Mostly Martha and Nowhere in Africa.
Turns out that Carl, another friend, already liked Mostly Martha even before he met me, so I guess either you get it, or you don't.
Anyway, enjoy "What Brian Did Next" and other stories and if nothing else, marvel at the amount of exclamation marks teenage girls used in 1983!
